GLACIER HIKE
High alpine mountain experience and easy circular hiking trails.
Right on the border with the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Kitzsteinhorn offers a diverse hiking terrain like hardly any other area. Sometimes gently ascending paths over green soils and with a colorful variety of flowers, sometimes high alpine rocky landscapes with challenging climbs.
The cable cars take you easily to the starting points of the hiking routes. On guided tours you can climb your first 3,000 meter peak or dare to go on an adventurous expedition through the climate zones of the Kitzsteinhorn with the national park ranger.
FAMILIES AND AMUSEMENT PARK MAISKOGEL
In the family and leisure park at the new Kaprun Center at the valley station of the Maiskogelbahn, kids will find a true fun paradise.
In the bouncy castle land the motto is: “Take off your shoes and jump!” And in the slide paradise it goes downhill rapidly. In between you can balance on the net bridge, swing on the spring rockers or relax on the nest swing. Boredom? This term is unknown in the family and leisure park!
The whole family can quickly descend into the valley on the first alpine roller coaster in Salzburgerland! Guided safely on rails, you speed downhill in the green two-seaters at speeds of up to 40 km/h. Waves, jumps and spectacular tops get the adrenaline rushing through your veins and screams of joy ring out from the Maiskogel. Adults and children will find a popular excursion destination in summer and winter and an exciting adventure when tobogganing on the Alpine Coaster.

GIPFELWELT 3000
Far up, at 3,029 meters above sea level and right on the border with the Hohe Tauern National Park, you can feel the high alpine nature with all your senses. An alpine experience that is otherwise only reserved for experienced alpinists on their mountain tours becomes a leisurely excursion to 3,000 meters on the Kitzsteinhorn.
Easily accessible with the comfortable cable cars, the Summit World 3000 is a popular excursion destination all year round. You have a magnificent view from the “Top of Salzburg” and “National Park Gallery” viewing platforms. The glaciated peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park shine in the sun and Austria’s highest mountain, the Grossglockner, peaks out between the clouds at eye level. Here Austria’s mightiest mountains are within reach. You can experience the glacier up close with a summer slide in the Ice Arena below the summit. National park rangers lead through the summit world 3000 and tell interesting details about the Hohe Tauern and the Kitzsteinhorn.
