UNSERE TIPPS FÜR IHREN AUSFLUG AUF’S KITZSTEINHORN
With our tips, you are well prepared for your summer vacation in the Alps. Even in summer it is relatively cool on the Kitzsteinhorn – expect temperatures between 0°C and +10°C in the summit area. In the Alpine Center at around 2450 meters above sea level, temperatures are somewhat milder at between 5°C and 15°C. An onion layer is therefore perfect for your trip to the glacier. Don’t forget to pack sun cream.
The best time to visit depends on what activities you have planned. July & August is high season – the Alpine Center and all attractions are open, but you may encounter larger crowds, so it is best to start early in the morning – then you can also experience the impressive sunrise at the same time.
The budget can vary greatly depending on which activities you plan to do and whether you have a snack with you or stop for a bite to eat. The Top of Salzburg ticket costs around €59 for adults and around €29.50 for kids (2010 to 2019). The National Park Gallery Tour is usually free of charge, the Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour costs approx. 14 € excl. cable car costs and the “My first 3000m” tour costs approx. 110 € incl. equipment, excl. cable car ticket.
